The Magical Pill That Has A Huge Job To Do
When I got my kidney diagnosis...
all I wanted was a magic pill to make it all go away.
Unfortunately, that didn’t exist.
There was medication that suppresses the immune system, which should slow disease progression. But suppressing the immune system does a lot of other things too. Side effects, which are just effects – sometimes huge, numerous, and mostly unwanted.
So the question became: how much am I willing to tolerate to hopefully get a benefit that isn’t even guaranteed?
Now, years later and studying Ayurveda even more deeply, I realize that magic pill was always an illusion. And worse – it put the power outside of myself. Working with food and lifestyle tailored to my specific body has improved my health dramatically. Not just physically, but mentally too, because of that sense of empowerment.
The medical system is now a useful tool to measure what I already see and feel. Not the only answer.
This week I met a new client.
He told me how relieved he felt when his specialist said his condition might be food and lifestyle related. The specialist didn’t give him any guidance, but it brought him to me. He felt relieved because suddenly he had power, instead of relying on antibiotics that weren’t working and doctors saying they didn’t know what else to do.
I completely relate. When you hear that food and lifestyle influence your condition, the answer is back in your hands. Yes, that can also feel overwhelming. What IS healthy for your body, specifically?
But here's what's beautiful:
when people work with their bodies instead of against them, they discover they do have control. And often through surprisingly simple adjustments. Asking one little pill to compensate for daily habits that don’t serve your body and heal your chronic condition? That’s a very big job for a little pill. But adjusting those habits yourself? That changes everything.
That’s what happens in January 2026 with At Home in Your Body.
You learn to listen to your body, work with it, give yourself your health back.
I’d be honored to have you join.
